This is going to be my favourite list:
- Die Hard
Technically, Hans Gruber was planning a heist. This movie is a heist movie. Die Hard is the greatest action movie ever made and by default it becomes the BEST heist movie in history.
- Heat
I get a feeling that most of The Dark Knight feels like watching Heat. It has two of my most favourite actors of all time locking horns. Beautifully crafted cinema to say the least.
- The Italian Job
This is a very amusing film dealing wit a group of robbers, led by career criminal Charlie Croker stunningly performed by Michael Caine who create the largest traffic jam in Turin history, giving them time to pull off a theft of gold bullion. The film blends tension ,action packed ,comedy, emotion, suspense , plot twists and is pretty entertaining and bemusing . There are wild chases galore with impressive velocities pursuits cars making varied and spectacular capers , with bounds and leaps by the streets ,undergrounds , canals, highways and rooftops which lasts for several minutes. Furthermore , there's a clever twist ending as happen generally in those flicks. Actors' interpretation is nice and enjoyable . Michael Caine is cool, Margaret Blye 's delightful performance plus of enticing and attractive . Special mention the veterans Raf Vallone as Italian gangster and Noel Coward as typical British mobster .
- Dog Day Afternoon
Another Al Pacino movie but this is worth a watch for anyone who is interested in Heist movies. Simply beautiful.
- Die Hard: With a Vengeance
Bruce Willis is back as police officer Lt. John McClane and in this movie he teams with Samuel L. Jackson as Zeus Carver to stop the wicked Jeremy Irons who is planning to cause mayhem and destruction around New York. It doesn't let up for a second; it's one of those movies where your heart beats as fast as the characters and by the end of the movie, you'll be feeling like you ran round New York chasing a bomber. That is how all good action movies should be. I don't think it is any exaggeration to say that Die Hard:With A Vengeance deserves to be rated one of the top action movies of the 1990's.
- Reservoir Dogs
The movie is told through a series of flashbacks from each of the criminals. I have never seen this done so breathtakingly. "Dogs" is an absolute masterpiece. There is absolutely nothing between the satirical writing or the hard-to-watch murders that could possibly make the movie any more perfect. Overall, the movie is absolutely incredible and I do not wish to say anymore to give away any sense of the ending.
- Jackie Brown
One of the most underrated movies of all time, this Tarantino flick needs to be seen by a wider audience.
- Point Break
One of the most iconic movies of all time, Point Break is like fine wine and it has aged really well.
- The Thomas Crown Affair
Steve McQueen is one of the best actors of all time. Watch him for the suave and class he brings to the movie.
- The Town
Ben Affleck is a phenomenal director. I'll always be afraid of nuns now after watching this movie.
